Montjuïc - (2020)

Montjuïc is a reflection upon how connection is formed with environment, and the role that the camera plays within forming memory. Taking place on the hill of Montjuïc in Barcelona, Spain, new perspectives are created through discovering and constructing the landscape, searching for a way to find connection. By contesting the division between experience and memory, a dreamlike space is formed in which fiction and reality meet, meanings shift, and the past and present combine.

Through creating compositions or collaborations with the land itself, traces are left that balance on the edge of recognition and alienation. The inclusion of photographic apparatus within the images, allows the camera itself is viewed as a part of the modern day memory forming process, and a tool which has become synonymous with our ability to find connection and meaning with a place.
